These Terms of Trade outline what you can expect from Jardin Design and what we require from you as our client. Our goal is to provide excellent service and ensure the best possible outcome for your garden.
These terms apply to all work carried out by Jardin Design including garden design, planting, installation, consultations, advice, and ongoing garden maintenance. They override any verbal agreements unless confirmed in writing.

If you are unhappy with any work provided, please notify us as soon as possible so we can resolve the issue promptly.
Gardening Service Rates
Gardener: $75 + GST per hour (minimum 2-hour visit)
Planting services: $75 + GST per hour
Green waste removal: $35 per bag + GST
Travel, Parking & Site Access
Travel
Our hourly rate includes up to 30 minutes travel time to your property.
If travel exceeds 15 minutes, additional travel time may be charged.
Parking & Tolls
Any paid parking, permits, or toll charges incurred while undertaking work at your property will be passed on to the client.
Photos & Marketing
From time to time we may take before and after photos of garden projects for use in marketing, advertising, or social media.
If you prefer that your garden not be photographed, please notify us before work begins.
Appointment Cancellations
We are happy to reschedule appointments where possible.
However, if you need to cancel an appointment, we require at least 48 hours notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee.
Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed.
Invoices are sent via email unless you request a mailed invoice prior to work commencing.
If payment is not received within 20 days of the invoice due date, Jardin Design reserves the right to:
• Add a $150 late fee
• Charge interest on overdue balances
• Recover any debt collection costs
Plant & Material Procurement
Where Jardin Design sources plants or materials for your project, a procurement fee may apply to cover time spent sourcing and organising supplies.
Plant prices and availability may change depending on supplier availability and seasonal demand.
Garden Design Services
The Design Process
Initial consultation to discuss your garden and requirements.
A design quote will be emailed to you.
Once accepted, we return to measure the site and begin design work.
A 50% deposit is required before design work begins.
Design concepts are typically completed within 2–4 weeks.
We present the design and allow one round of revisions.
Further amendments will be charged at $200 + GST per hour.
If no feedback is received within 3 weeks of the concept presentation, the remaining 50% invoice may be issued.
Installation & Planting Services
Once your design and planting plan are finalised, we will:
Prepare a plant list and obtain supplier pricing
Provide an installation quote including:
Plants
Materials
Labour
Project management
A 50% deposit is required before installation work begins.
Once plants are sourced they will be delivered, placed, and planted on site.
Planting typically includes soil mix and mulch to ensure plant health and weed control.
Labour Conditions
Planting labour estimates are based on normal soil conditions.
If underground obstructions such as tree roots, buried debris, or rocks are encountered, additional time or equipment may be required and charged accordingly.
Project Management & Contractor Liaison
For projects involving landscape construction or third-party contractors, Jardin Design may assist with:
• Design clarification
• Site meetings
• Contractor coordination
These services are charged at $150 + GST per hour.
Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for informing Jardin Design of any:
• Body corporate rules
• Property restrictions
• Council regulations
that may affect the design or installation.
Where structures require building consent (such as pergolas or pools), clients will need to engage appropriate professionals such as engineers or draftspeople.
Ownership of Goods
Plants and materials supplied remain the property of Jardin Design until payment is made in full.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jardin Design’s liability for any claim relating to services or goods supplied is limited to the value of the services or goods provided.
Jardin Design will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Privacy
Client information may be collected and used for:
• providing services
• invoicing and payment processing
• credit assessment if required
Client information will be handled in accordance with New Zealand privacy laws.
Acceptance of Terms
By instructing Jardin Design to carry out work on your behalf, you acknowledge and accept these Terms of Trade.
